Most of us heard of the saying “Sitting is the new smoking”. It is true that the average person spends most of their time sitting throughout the day. Our bodies were designed to MOVE. The more we move or stay active, the healthier we will be. However, there’s a catch 22. The quality of movement and the health of your musculoskeletal system is important too. If you move poorly & inefficiently, and you have an unhealthy musculoskeletal system, you can develop injuries. For example, when I was younger I was an avid weight lifter. I had no clue what was proper form so I ended up injuring my lower back and also developed chronic shoulder/rotator cuff problems.
You can also develop aches & pains if your job involves standing on your feet all day or repetitive stress/movements (i.e. bending over or lifting objects repeatedly at work with poor ergonomics)
Sitting at a desk or computer all day can cause nagging aches, pains, stiffness, & discomfort in neck and back.
Nowadays time is everything! Having to work a 40 hour week, taking the kids to soccer practice, and having to run errands on the weekend. On top of that you have this nagging neck or lower back pain you’ve been dealing with but haven’t made the time to drive to the Chiropractor’s office to take care of.
Mobile appointments with Dr. Lee at home or work are providing New Orleanians access to a new integrative chiropractic care program that includes dry needling, soft tissue therapy, cupping therapy, and Guac Sha or “scraping” therapy designed address your bodies musculoskeletal needs.
Dr. Lee also offers a neurological based dry needling service which is great for reducing nerve inflammation and improving circulation. Integrative Chiropractic Care can help you feel better so you can improve focus at work instead of focusing on that nagging neck pain due to sitting at the computer or desk all day. It can also provide relief if your lower back is hurting from being on your feet or lifting boxes all day at work. If you’re dealing with injuries from playing tennis, golf, running, or working out at the gym, Integrative Chiropractic care may help you get back to doing what you love.
On your first visit, Dr. Lee will do a Chiropractic examination. This examination could include blood pressure readings, orthopedic tests, as well as neurological tests. If you want neurological dry needling, he will perform a quantitative sensory test which will help determine if neurological dry needling will benefit you and how many visits to expect.
